I am from Spain and I reside there but I spent this summer in Indiana visiting family. I decided to get that dental work done while being there and I chose Atrium Center based on their online reviews. I can honestly say it changed the way I feel about dentistry. Dr. Weiss and his team made me have the best dental experience of my life. Here is why:
But my experience with Dr. Weiss was more than just an enjoyable dental work and cleaning done. It awakened my interest in dentistry. It taught me that a personalized, pain free and high quality treatment is possible.
My relationship with dentistry has always been marked by a lack of empathy and fear: I thought no dentist could empathise with such a very low- pain- tolerance patient. In the same way, I never understand how someone could be passionate about working on people's mouths. Yuck! My gums are really sensitive and even regular cleanings (that are painless for most patients) are painful for me. For that reason, I was putting off a cleaning and some fillings that I needed to get done this year.
Then, Dr. Weiss, examined my X ray with me and used several analogies to explain every concept, from how to improve my gum sensitivity to how to floss correctly. It was the first time a dentist had actually took the time to help me understand how my mouth works and the science behind it. In order to do perform the fillings I needed, he made sure that the anaesthetic was working properly so that I wouldn't feel anything. I didn't even feel the NEEDLE!! I could not believe it. He made me be able to relax in the chair while he was working on my mouth. He and his hygienist, Sandra, were extremely professional and constantly checking on me to make sure I was fine. It was the only dental experience I have enjoyed in my life.
First, they did and X ray of my mouth which Dr. Weiss would later use it to explain my particularities and personal needs. The hygienist that took care of me, Kayla, was very careful and meticulous while doing my cleaning. She numbed my gums on several occasions to make sure that I felt no pain. And I did not feel any pain. My mouth felt so much lighter and better, immediately after the cleaning.
This place is the only dentist that I actually love going to. Everyone is so nice and caring here. I recommend this dentist to anyone!
