I had no job title, i had to remind them to give me w4s for my taxes because they "forgot to give me the papers" after a few weeks things were going good, work was hard and hours were decent. Starting pay was just 75 cents above minimum wage, no pay raises, no vacation time, no benifits that I was aware of. 4 weeks later I was informed that my boss was no longer Steve turner but his wife Charletta. Charletta turner called myself while I was off the clock, she text at 11:30pm to give next day info, never had a complete list of what to do, Charletta would always criticize and condescend everything myself and other coworkers would do as well as accuse her employees of being sexist and lazy. There is a reason why no one employed under turner contracting in lawance county likes Carlotta Turner and to an extent Steve turner and her "method" of employment. Further more, as a experienced worker for lowes home improvement, the Indiana state fair grounds, and for Chent incorporated, I have in the past employment situations have had one boss to listen to, in tci's situation you have two bosses and if you work for one you get in trouble from the other. Steve and charletta turner will not listen to any complaints you or any other employees have and they go as far as to complain about people swapping shifts and writing in time cards when other employees write in their time cards. They play favorites, and have an inflated opinion of themselves. Money talks and from my experiences with the turners, money also corrupts. I was hired in at 24 an hour. No per diem but hotel is paid for. The superintendent didn’t have an open excavator position open so I was told that I’d have to drive a truck, no problem however my pay would be only 16 an hour.
They tell you that you get to come home every 3 months but what they don’t tell you is you have to pay to get home and return. The company only pays for you to go home 2 times a year and it is still your responsibility to get back to the job site. What a joke
